Keep Ann Carter in our thoughts and prayers. She is a long time Club member who lives in Jacksonville, FL and has been sick for over 18 months now, in and out of the hospital. She is very weak, but her daughter says she can have phone calls, short visits and especially would appreciate a card (address in Club Directory). She rode her bike to the Chicken Rally many, many years even into her 80's. She was our little ray of sunshine in the morning helping at the Chicken Rally getting up at 5:00 a.m. to assist with breakfast.

The below note was sent from Ann's daughter. She was a wonderful lady and will be truly missed by the Club.
Ann Carter, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away Thursday, March 11, 2010, at home surrounded by her loving family after an extended illness. After almost a month at home with hospice where she was able to have visitors and talk on the phone, her condition worsened Monday. She had began sleeping more and more and passed in her sleep last night. Your love and prayers were so very much appreciated. It was wonderful to realize how many lives she touched. There will be no public service. Joan Secrest 904-254-7320.

There has now been a donation made to the Community Hospice of NE Florida in Ann Carter's name, per her family wishes.
There was no memorial service per her wishes. She only wanted her ashes scattered off the back of a motorcycle. Connie |
